In nearly 60 years of operation there has been nothing that has disrupted CBBC operations quite like COVID-19. Our first priority is always the health and safety of our staff and students and it was for this reason that we temporarily paused all studies until such a time as we could plan for a safe return to school.

Unfortunately, the current COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a Director’s Order from Nova Scotia Labour and Advanced Education Private Career Colleges which does not permit the admission of new students to programs that have any immediate skill-based instruction, clinical components, or practicum type placements. This is problematic for us as these hands-on learning components play a large part in our curriculums. We believe strongly in learning by doing and consider these opportunities a major asset to our students.

Yellow fall leavesThe current Director’s Order means that we  do not know yet when the ministry will allow new classes to start. It is for this reason that we have therefore decided to move all our spring 2020 intakes to the fall. We know that this will be disappointing and frustrating and we assure you that we’re doing everything to get you back through our doors as soon as it is safe to do so.

We would like to make this as easy and stress free as possible for all future students. With that in mind, please be assured that if you have registered for a spring start program, your enrollment is secure and we will ensure you keep your place in the program of your choice! Should the moratorium lift before September, we will explore options of starting your programs at an earlier date. CBBC will also keep in trust any tuition payments that have been made, either personally or through Student Assistance, anWe would like to make this as easy and stress free as possible for all future students. With that in mind, d apply those payments to your program once you begin classes. If you received money from Student Assistance, we recommend that you hold that aside to use once your program commences.

If you have previously registered for spring 2020 start programs, please HERE to see when your program was originally scheduled to start, and when your new start date is set to begin. Note that new acceptance letters will be forwarded to you to reflect these changes.

If you’re not yet registered for a program but are interested in starting in the fall, we would love to chat with you.
