Featured image for September Update!

September is here and gone, students are well into the swing of things. CBBC Career College held a lunch time social for all students, a pizza and pop lunch. This was a great opportunity for students to meet the staff and students from other programs. Fundraising has begun for our Cape Breton Community. CBBC students showed their support to the Sydney Credit Union coin drive donating loose change in support of the cancer care center here in Cape Breton. We only had two weeks and made were able to make a nice contribution to the fundraising event. The Medical Office Assistants are sponsoring a food drive for the local food banks and the Pharmacy Assistants are accepting donations of new and gently used toys for the Toys for Tots program. The toys will distributed to children in our area at Christmas time this year!!
Our Continuing Care Assistant Class in North Sydney has set out on a goal of better health and wellness!! One of the assignments from module two talked about wellness illness and health each student had the same goal ,to improve their overall health and well-being. The CCA Group as a whole discussed the results and are determined to do 30 minute walk each day on the boardwalk …on rainy or snow days they will stay indoors and do 30 minutes of yoga or making beds for the clients. A dietitian and her two dietetic interns will be conducting educational sessions on wellness and healthy eating. Great job working together, helping each other reach their health and physical fitness goal. Best of the luck!!
