We are saddened and devastated by the news of the tragic shooting in Portapique, Nova Scotia. Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and all those affected by this distressing event. It’s important for us to remember that people are affected in their hearts and minds, which can undermine healthy communities and social relationships at home and at school.

Using the keep.meSAFE Student Support Program, we would like to extend some additional support to you during this difficult time as you try to understand the impact of the situation and help those who are affected. You can use the keep.meSAFE Student Support helpline (1.844.451.9700) and app (My SSP) and remain open.

keep.meSAFE’s partners at Morneau Shepell have also opened up an additional Crisis Support Line for anyone in the community in need of emotional support in relation to these events. This additional Crisis Support Line is now open (24/7) and can be reached at 1-844-751-2133.  By calling, individuals will receive professional emotional support and/or referral to community resources. This resource is available to anyone and everyone, client or not, so feel free to share with others as appropriate.

What Our Graduates Are Saying

I think the thing that has stood out to me the most in the program is how much the teachers care about your success and how they work hard to create a positive environment to learn in. It’s really amazing! They really encourage all the students to celebrate each other’s successes and help each other out. I really struggled with the decision of which school to attend, and I know that I made the right choice.
